Baseball season is only a couple of weeks old, but Darius Rucker has already found the time to show his loyalty to the Cincinnati Reds.

Spotted by Fox Sports during a recent game at Great American Ball Park, the “Wagon Wheel” singer chatted with Jim Day about becoming a Cincinnati Reds fan while growing up in South Carolina.

“I started liking sports at a young age. They were great,” Darius told Fox Sports. “They were great to watch on TV. I loved all the players. I though they were great—[Dan] Driessen at first base and [Joe] Morgan. I loved them. I kept loving them. They kept winning and they kept being great.”

The country singer also got the opportunity to sing the national anthem for his favorite team at GABP during the 2016 season. No doubt Darius is stoked about the start of baseball season. He posted the national anthem photo on Instagram expressing his excitement, and the Reds are currently leading the NL Central with a 9-5 record.

“Baseball is back baby! Let’s go @Reds. What ball cap are y’all wearing this season??” he wrote in the caption.
