In an interview with People, Ashley McBryde shared details of her most starstruck moment, when she first met Reba McEntire at the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards. McBryde was doing a promotional interview, and was surprised when an unexpected guest joined in the discussion. “She snuck in when I was doing a radio interview,” McBryde recalls. “And she got right next to my face and said into the microphone, ‘Hi, Ashley McBryde, this is Reba McEntire, and I’m your biggest fan.'” The 41-year-old country star said she didn’t keep her cool at all when meeting McEntire. “I just literally honked like a goose at her,” McBryde joked, before revealing that she was only able to nervously mutter “Hi.” McBryde also disclosed that she intentionally avoided meeting her hero Emmylou Harris for years, before performing at a benefit with the country legend last year. “I got to have a nice conversation with Emmylou Harris.
