Blake Shelton Opens Up About How Conway Twitty Is An Inspiration For His Own Music

During a new interview on Audacy’s Friday Night Takeover with Rob + Holly, Blake Shelton shared how the beloved songs and celebrated career of Conway Twitty have inspired his own music over the years. Shelton was discussing the recording of his new single, “Texas,” and how it captures a slightly different sound and style for him. “Every time I make a record, I try and take a step in some other direction,” Shelton said. “Just something different than I did the last time.” That inventive musical nature is something he learned from listening to Twitty’s music. “I always loved Conway Twitty for that reason,” Shelton admits. “If you listen to his entire catalog, if you listen to every record, he’s kind of all over the place with what he did and he kept it exciting.
